Berserker monster line

The Berserker and Marauder are a series of machine soldiers, likely of De Loco's design. These enemies are palette swaps of each other, each with varying levels of strength and are fought in different locations in the game. All of the variants in this monster line are Yellow-affiliated.

Berserker

The Berserker (デ式特機兵 De Shiki Tokukihei) is a green, red and yellow variant with a somewhat crude design.

In-battle, the Berserker only has one battle command:

• Attack: A standard physical attack.

When defeated, Berserkers yield 729 EXP, 342 gold and have a 4% chance of dropping a Glyph of Might. They are fought throughout Dangral Island.

The Berserker's stats make it one of the standout enemies on Dangral Island, surpassed only by the Lurgel Tank. However, because the Berserker only uses physical attacks, Vyse's Skull Shield can easily render them harmless.

Marauder

A Marauder (ヒュドラ機兵 Hyudora Kihei) is a grey and brown variant with a more elaborate design.

In-battle, the Marauder only has one battle command:

• Attack: A standard physical attack.

When defeated, Marauders yield 849 EXP, 377 gold and have a 4% chance of dropping a Hydra Wing. They are only fought onboard the Hydra.

Marauder has the highest Defense rating on the Hydra, but is also the area's slowest enemy and are outclassed by the Hydra Elite. Like its predecessor, Skull Shield can easily render it harmless. What makes this enemy notable is its drop item: the Hydra Wing is the strongest weapon Aika can get and in the Dreamcast version, they are the only source of the item meaning its possible for unsuspecting players to miss the item completely. Those playing the remake however can obtain a Hydra Wing during the Moonfish side-quest.
