Flat Fiend monster line

The Flat Fiend and Stalk Fiend are a species of monsters. These enemies, resembling thin bodied creatures, are palette-swapped variants of each other that appear in different, mutually-exclusive locations within the same game. They also have differing levels of strength and similar sets of battle skills. Unlike most other monster lines, both variants also have different color-affiliations.

The Flat Fiend (レナウト Renauto) is a purple and yellow variant. This variant is Purple-affiliated.

In-battle, the Flat Fiend can use the following battle command:

• Attack: A standard physical attack.
• Quika
• Sacres

When defeated, Flat Fiend yields 331 EXP, 98 Gold, and have a 2% chance of dropping a Ghost Mail. They are fought in the Dark Rift.

The Flat Fiend is the fastest enemy in the Dark Rift and has a higher than usual dodge rate, which could make it a particularly frustrating enemy to eliminate, especially if it gets a chance to cast Quika on its allies. Fortunately, like other enemies fought in the Dark Rift, it isn't very durable.

The Stalk Fiend (マセラウト Maserauto) is a dark red and white variant. This variant is Green-affiliated.

In-battle, the Stalk Fiend can use the following battle command:

• Attack: A standard physical attack.
• Quika
• Sacres

When defeated, Stalk Fiend yields 678 EXP, 176 Gold, and have a 2% chance of dropping a Fiber Mail. They are fought in the Maw of Tartas.

Like its predecessor, the Stalk Fiend is the enemy in the Maw of Tartas with the highest Quick and dodge ratings, though it isn't very durable and has the lowest Attack rating. Its even less notable thanks to the presence of stronger enemies in the area like the Shrilp.
