The Yafutoma Soldier (simply named Soldier in-game, sharing this name with another enemy) and Youjin are spear-wielding soldiers wearing samurai-style armor. Both enemies are blue-affiliated. While the Soldier is present in both versions of Skies of Arcadia, its palette swap counterpart only appears in an optional boss battle in the remake.

A Soldier (モノノフ Mononofu) is a turquoise variant.
In-battle, the Soldier can use the following battle commands:
- Attack: A standard physical attack.
- Wind Slash: The Soldier swings its spear, generating a shockwave that damages all party members in the line of fire.
- Counterstance: The Soldier takes up a defensive stance for the turn, increasing their defence stat to 200% for 1 turn. If struck by a basic physical attack while in counterstance, the Soldier will always respond with a counter attack. This is an Expidited Ability which is an ability that takes effect immediatly at the beginning of the battle round, regardless of quickness.
When defeated, Soldiers yield 545 EXP, 225 Gold, and have a 1% chance of dropping an Aura of Valor. They are only fought on the Delphinus while under Muraji's control. Here a group of four attack Vyse and crew on deck, and more accompany Muraji in battle. There is also a short time in between these battles where they are fought as random encounters alongside Red Guards.

Youjin (ヨウジン) is a red variant. Youjin are only present in Skies of Arcadia Legends, where they serve as "sidekick enemies" during the optional boss battle with Daikokuya The Wealthy in the Land of Ice airspace.
In-battle, the Youjin can use the following battle commands:

- Counterstance: The Youjin takes up a defensive stance for the turn, increasing their defence stat to 200% for 1 turn. When defeated, Youjins yield varying amounts of EXP and Gold, depending on when the player decides to fight Daikokuya.
